20 years of experience

For twenty years we have been passionately inventing and building string instruments for music therapists, musicians, sound healers, psychotherapists, music schools, schools, daycare centers and all people who want to immerse themselves in the world of sounds in an uncomplicated way and without much prior knowledge.

Each instrument is unique

We are a small team of five people full of enthusiasm for craftsmanship, sounds, music, wood, tools and life itself. Meerklang was founded in 2001 by Götz Rausch, who completed his training as an instrument maker with Bernhard Deutz (Klangwerkstatt) in Berlin from 1996-1999.

Our cozy workshop is located far in the northeast of Germany in the small, dreamy village of Stolzenhagen, which lies directly in the Lower Oder Valley National Park.

Stress is something we don't like at all, so we don't work too much and only work as long as we have good energy and are focused.

This relaxed way of working and our many years of experience in building sound instruments enable us to produce instruments of the highest quality with great dedication. Each instrument is unique and only leaves our workshop when we are absolutely satisfied with its sound and workmanship.

Regionally produced, internationally played

Because we make a lot of music ourselves and also work therapeutically with our instruments, we naturally attach great importance to rich sound, easy playability and simple handling.

All of the musical instruments we offer have proven themselves in practice and are used worldwide by therapists, musicians and anyone who enjoys sound instruments.

The wood we use comes exclusively from regional forests, apart from the fine-grained spruce soundboards, which we source directly from a sustainably managed forestry company in the Upper Engadine in Switzerland.

We get the metal components such as pegs and pins and the string material from small manufacturers in southern Germany.
